About this speaker
John Fink has been the President & CEO of Aloha United Way since June, 2020. Prior to that, John was involved in Hawai`i media for over four decades, including 37 years in local television.
His pre-AUW career includes serving as Vice President/General Manager at KFVE- TV for 23-years, and at KHNL-TV (NBC) along with KFVE from 1996-2009. John began his media career with a short stint in public relations for a pro soccer team (Team Hawai`i in the North American Soccer League), spent four years as a radio sales manager and music director, which was followed by his entry into TV as a sales representative at KGMB.
John has emceed and/or spoken at hundreds of functions and fundraisers for a variety of local businesses, civic groups, and charities throughout his career. He writes a weekly column, “Think About It”, for MidWeek magazine, after writing/airing “Think About It” editorials on KHNL and KFVE for 19-years.
John has a long history of philanthropic/charity work locally as a board member and advisor, and remains active on boards/committees such as the Hawai`i Visitors and Convention Bureau, the (Aloha) Stadium Authority, Hawaii State Junior Golf Assn., UH Athletics’ `Ahahui Koa Ānuenue, the Hawai`i Bowl, and the Diamond Head Classic.
