About this speaker
Beverly Ament was appointed President of Island Insurance Company, Ltd. on January 1, 2019. Prior to that, she served as Executive Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer and was responsible for management and underwriting of all commercial and personal insurance. She has been with the company since 1996.
Bev began her insurance career at Bishop Insurance Company, Ltd., a Hawaii branch of Commercial Union Insurance Company. She also worked at various insurance agencies before joining Island Insurance. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Colorado and is a graduate of St. Andrew’s Priory School for Girls in Honolulu.
Outside of work, Bev is on the Board of Directors for Chamber of Commerce Hawaii, Board of Trustees for St. Andrew’s Schools, and is Chairman of the Board for Hawaii Property Insurance Association. She also has leadership roles with several other key industry organizations including American Property Casualty Insurance Association and Swiss Re.
